Corporal punishment

CORPORAL PUNISHMENT

I disagree with corporal punishment because we live in a world advanced beating children. getting taken into the principals office and getting whipped over and over and theres nothing you can do about it. It is unfair to smack children because children become scared of their teachers and parents.

Corporal punishment is unfair and just teaches children its ok to hit each other and it sets a bad example and will make an unsafe environment for people to grow up in kids should be able to feel safe in their own homes and schools.

Romeo and Juliet Character Description

Romeo

In Fair Verona where we lay our scene lives a fair Montague -  Romeo. An obsessed fourteen year old lover who would die for his sweet Juliet. A Montague perhaps, but he will treat all as his equals.

With his lush blue eyes that are as deep as the ocean itself, his flowing blonde hair as golden as the sun, he may appear handsome to some. His slim figure and romantic personality compliment his dying love for Juliet. The long blood red cloak and dark black tights hug closely to his skin. He wears black leather shoes as dark as night and a sky blue woolen top.

A lover not a fighter, this saying best describes Romeo. His un-conditional love for Juliet, only deepens the passion for love. A friend to all and a loyal  friend worth having. Peaceful at heart he would do anything to save a friend or his sweet Juliet. If anything mattered more to Romeo it would have to be love. Although he has killed both Tybalt and Paris it was purely for his love of Juliet.

Two households both alike in dignity neither one more superior. The Capulet’s and the Montague's. Romeo a Montague and Juliet a Capulet. Hatred boiled amongst them. Nothing would give the Lord’s more pleasure than to slit one another’s throats. Forever more the quarrel would continue if it wasn’t for Juliet and her Romeo

Romeo believed that Rosaline completed him. Unfortunately the love was not returned. He meet the love of his life at the Capulets party... Juliet. Instant love. Forbidden love. But the quarrels between one’s parents’s be not between one’s children, in my belief. Nothing could separate love between these two, they would kill for each other.

Romeo forever be the peacekeeper. The one who buried his parents strife. For him nothing mattered more than the love of his Juliet

The Water Cycle

How Does The Water Cycle Work?

Water is useful for a lot of things such as drinking, washing clothes and much more. So has anyone wondered where it comes from? Imagine this. No water, no life... We are going to explain to you how the water cycle works.

Firstly, The water evaporates from the sea, rivers and lakes. Then the evaporated water becomes a gas that rises up until it forms clouds. That causes condensation, that forms the ice you see on your window in the morning.
Secondly, Transpiration is when the moisture accumulates on the vegetation and continues to rise up as a gas like evaporation. This takes the form of a cloud (condensation), also the plants drink the water from the frost that is caused by the condensation in the air around it.

Thirdly, when the clouds meet the cool air it causes the water in the cloud to get to heavy and as a result it causes the cloud to release the water (precipitation) which can result in rain, hail, sleet or snow. This can cause a lot of damage such as land slides, car crashes, flooding and trees to falling blocking roads.
When the rain falls it runs down the mountains. This is also known as surface runoff. This can accumulate in a stream and cause it to overflow and flood the surrounding area. Then after this the stream meets a river, it can enter either  a lake or go out to the ocean.

So now I hope you have a better understanding of the water cycle and its importance to life on earth. So next time you have a glass of water imagine how important it is for you and everyone else to understand the water cycle.

                 Te Whiti o Rongomai,s Biography

Te Whiti o Rongomai was born in 1830 at Ngamotu Taranaki during the Musket wars. He was the son of Hone Kakahi a minor chief of the Te Ati Awa tribe. Te Whiti was educated at Riemenschnider’s Mission School in Warea he excelled in bible studies.  he was identified as a possible prophet or teacher. After Te Whiti left school he opened a flour mill in Warea

By 1870 Parihaka had become the largest village in the country but sadly in 1879 Europeans invaded Parihaka and by 1881 Europeans started taking Maori land and punishing people unfairly. Te Whiti and Tohu were the leaders of the Parihaka movement ,they protested peacefully yet Te Whiti was imprisoned. this is where he learned how to use European technology. While Te Whiti was in prison the guards took two weeks to destroy all of the houses and two months for the guards to destroy all the crops while thousands of animals were slaughtered

In 1888 days before Te Whiti’s release from prison his wife died ,but Te Whiti was not allowed to return to Parihaka to attend her funeral. When Te Whiti was released from prison and returned to Parihaka the whole town began to modernise itself with lighting, drainage and running water.

Te Whiti died on the 18th of November 1970. We do not know how he died.

I think Te whiti is an inspirational leader because he did not take up arms and he protested peacefully he was a great leader he did not think violence was the answer
